Latin jazz harpist & composer, Patrice Fisher, has been performing and recording her own compositions since 1980. She has recorded 11 albums of original music, including her latest CD, "Music of the Three Americas." She has performed at such international festivals as the Cancun Jazz Festival, the Jambalaya Jazz Festival in Ilhabela, Brazil, the Trova Jazz Festival in Guatemala and the Festi Jazz in La Paz, Bolivia. Patrice also performs Celtic music and is director of the New Orleans Celtic Harp Ensemble.
“An unexpected delight!” raves David Fricke of Rolling Stone Magazine. Gene Scaramuzzo of Gambit newspaper says of Arpa "There are many sides to this local composer/harpist. It's not unusual to see her play a staid classical gig in the morning and a smoky music club at night. Strong rhythms form the undercurrent of her instrumental music with Arpa."

PATRICE FISHER PRESS REVIEWS
"There are many sides to this local composer/harpist. It's not unusual to see her play a staid classical gig in the morning and a smoky music club at night. Strong rhythms form the undercurrent of her instrumental music with Arpa. ...a must see performance."
Gene Scaramuzzo
Gambit newspaper, New Orleans

"Miss Fisher's neatly syncopated harp parts gave the music a twinkling surface."
Jon Pareles
New York Times

"You've heard Latin jazz. You've heard harp
(the stringed classical instrument, not blues harmonica). But have you heard them together? Fisher, a classically trained musician, who also plays flute, combines jazz improvisation with melodies & rhythms from around the Americas."
Scott Aiges, Best Bets for Jazz Fest,
Times Picayune, New Orleans

"There were no longer human figures on the stage. There were only hands running across the strings, beating them rhythmically, repeating something, singing a verse, whispering a secret."
Gustavo Montenegro, La Republica
Guatemala City, Central America

"The music played by Patrice Fisher & Arpa gave all in the audience the opportunity to "Wander" rhythmically with the group and absorb the lingering benefits of the ensemble's numerous, harmonious cosmopolitan odysseys."
Crystal Palmer, Bayou Bengal, Eunice, LA

"...an unexpected delight!"
David Fricke, Rolling Stone Magazine

"Centered around Fisher's majestical harp playing, the group has a nice variety of sounds & textures. Fran Comiskey's quiet masterpiece captures what Arpa is all about-enchantment." Michael Dominici, WYAT, New Orleans, LA
