Professional, practicing Louisiana artists in all disciplines who perform their work for audiences and/or conduct school or community workshops or residencies are eligible to apply to be included in the directory. This includes individual musicians, dancers, theater artists, storytellers, puppeteers, literary artists, as well as performing groups such as music ensembles, symphony orchestras, and dance, theater, and opera companies. Applicants must be able and willing to tour.
Visual artists are not in the directory at present, but “links” to their organizations are present on this site.
Individual artists and performing groups with substantial experience working in arts in education that offer fully-developed programs for ages pre-K-12 may also apply to be designated in the directory as artists in schools and/or teaching artists.
Artists in the current Touring Artist Directory must re-apply every five (5) years and provide annual, approved up-dates for the directory during those five years.
To be eligible to apply, an individual artist must be a resident of Louisiana and a U.S. citizen or holder of permanent- resident alien status.
Applications must be received in the Louisiana Presenters Network office by 5 p.m. on June 30th each year. Artists will be notified of the decision of selection for inclusion in the directory in July, and artists will be added to the site by September 30.
