Artists in the current Touring Artist Directory must re-apply every five (5) years and provide annual, approved up-dates for the directory during those five years.
To be eligible to apply, an individual artist must be a resident of Louisiana and a U.S. citizen or holder of permanent- resident alien status and have toured for a minimum of 5 years.
How We Select Artists
All applications will be reviewed by a panel made up of arts professionals selected for their expertise in a particular discipline or their experience in presenting performances and residency activities.
All applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:
Artistic quality
Successful performing and touring history and/or successful teaching experience in school or community settings
Digital submissions of all “samples” and promotional materials

How to Apply
All applicants should initially submit on-line the “first page” of the application, for if there are any unacceptable responses to the requirements, the applicant will not be allowed to continue the process.

“Capsule” Paragraph
Please submit a paragraph that provides the following information in a succinct manner:
A brief description of yourself as an artist or performing group, including a description of your particular form of artistic expression, a summary of your experience, and a summary of the programs you offer. Please limit your description to no more than 125 words.
Work Samples
With the exception of writing samples, all work samples must be submitted in a digital format (CD or DVD). Samples should best represent your creative ability and be of the highest possible quality, and should relate directly to the programs described in your information. Video-enhanced work samples or promotional DVDs will not be accepted.. Please refer to the following paragraphs for discipline-specific instructions regarding work samples.
Photograph (suitable for reproduction)
Please digitally submit one current, high-quality color photograph suitable for publication. The photograph must be appropriate to represent you as an individual artist or group. Please note the date the photo was taken and a photography credit.
Biographical Sketch
Individual artists should submit a resume summarizing your work experience, education, and other pertinent biographical information. Performing groups should submit brief biographies of key personnel. (Word Document)
Programming Synopsis (
one paragraph)
A brief description of each type of performance, workshop, residency program,etc. that you offer. (Word Document)
Three Year Touring History of artist/s
A clear and concise listing of your performances and/or residencies/workshops for the past three (3) years from most current year, including dates, names of presenters, locations, and kinds of programs (Word Document)
Press Clippings (
recent and SCANNED or DIGITAL)
Quotes – one page or less submitted on “Samples” CD (Word document)
